St. Patrick's Day Crafts for Little Ones

  • Now you have an ice cream container covered with green paper with a circle attached to the bottom. You have essentially the hat and the brim. Tape the 2-inch black strip to the bottom portion of the container to make the "hat band."
  • Tape the yellow square (or buckle for the hat) over the black band. It is almost as if you are making an upside down pilgrim hat!
  • You are ready to add tortilla chips into your Lucky Chip Hat. And just a hint – some stores even carry green tortilla chips during St. Patrick's Day. Look for them! You could even put cookies in your Lucky Hat!

    • Gold at the End of the Rainbow

    You'll need:

    • Red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple Jell-O
    • Hot and cold water
    • Clear plastic cups
    • Gummy bears or other gummy candies

    Here's what you do:

    1. Place the gummy treats in the bottom of the cup.
    2. Make the red Jell-O according to instructions on the box. Pour a small amount in the bottom of each clear glass. Keep in mind that you have five other layers coming.
    3. When the red Jell-O has set, repeat using the orange, yellow, blue and purple.

    Options:
    Kids can eat the treats and find their "gold" at the end of the rainbow. These are fun to use for birthday treats. Top them with whipped topping. Depending on the kids' ages, you can let them help pour or let them pick different patterns.
