A Plan for a Happy Life
By Celia Rocks
October – I Will Revamp My Workspace
Just because your employer owns your office doesn't mean you can't fix it up exactly the way you want it. Bring in family photos or some books you care about or some lush green plants. Even people who work for themselves sometimes neglect to create a beautiful workspace. This makes no sense to me. You spend at least 40 hours a week at work, you might as well surround yourself with things that make you feel creative, peaceful, energized, excited. November – I Will Seek Out Perfect Moments in Life
Life is full of opportunities for joy. We sometimes think holidays – Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah – are those perfect moments, but often they are not. Sometimes perfect moments are disguised as hardships. In my book, I describe how my family and I turned a thunderstorm power outage into a fun indoor "camp out" complete with sleeping bags, candles, sandwiches and board games. This month, keep your eyes open for unexpected perfect moments. I guarantee you will find some great ones. December – I Will Start a Gratitude Journal
Spirituality, a critical part of the Good Life, is all about giving thanks for the bounty that surrounds you. Make or buy a beautiful book with blank pages. Each day, write down one thing for which you're thankful. Maybe it's your son's first word or your beloved pet or the way the sunlight streams through your kitchen window. When you're feeling down, reflect on your Gratitude Journal. You'll discover you're already living the Good Life.
