Two Cute!
Adorable Costumes to Make for Your Twins By Kymberly Pratt
Here's what you do:
1. Take the white foam and cut out two circles for the bun. Cutting can be very easy with a serrated kitchen knife. You could also use a piece of poster board if you want to save some pennies.
2. After you have your bun circle cut out, cut two small slits in the upper corners of the bun. Each slit needs to be about 2 inches in length. (See illustration two.) Cut two 20-inch by 1-inch strips of white felt to thread through the slits cut in the buns. These strips will hold the burger on the shoulders of your child. Do not attach the strips yet. First you need to dress your bun.
3. To dress the bun, apply brown felt for the meat, green felt for lettuce and/or pickles, red felt for tomatoes, yellow for cheese, etc. Apply each section of felt with hot glue.
4. To attach the hamburger all together, simply thread the 20-inch white felt strips through the slits on the buns and tie them together, one on each side. These strips will sit on the shoulders of your child so that the hamburger bun is on the outside and the "fixings" are near his body.
5. For the French fries, wrap the poster board around your child and mark armhole areas. Carefully cut out the holes for your child's arms.
6. Dress the poster board with yellow material or paint it yellow with touches of brown to resemble a French fry. After the poster board is dry you can rewrap it in a circle and attach it together with hot glue or a stapler.
7. You can also make a hat for your French fry with yellow felt. Wrap felt around an existing hat or cap. You can also wrap a square piece of felt into a cone shape to fit your child's head. Put a splash of red on the Frnch fry to resemble ketchup.
