Two Cute!
Adorable Costumes to Make for Your Twins By Kymberly Pratt
Here's what you do:
1. To make the flowerpot, cut two strips of poster board to go around your child's face (under his chin and over the top of his head).
2. Take the color of poster board you chose and cut out your petal shapes. When you cut them out make sure to leave a small rectangle at the bottom of the shape to help you attach them to your child's head. (See illustration four.)
3. Attach the petals to the piece of poster board to go around your child's face. Attach them with a stapler or a hot glue gun. When you are attaching them, make sure to use the rectangle you left at the end of the shape and bend it in such a way to help the petal stand up. You can attach as many petals as you would like. Be creative!
4. Remember you cut two strips of poster board? After you are finished attaching the petals, attach the second strip of poster board to keep the petals from falling off.
5. To make the flowerpot, paint two pieces of poster board gray or whatever you want your pot to be. You can even decorate your poster board instead of making it all one color. After it is dry, cut a strip of poster board that is approximately 8 inches in height for the rim of the flowerpot. Then use one whole poster board to resemble the bottom layer of the flowerpot.
6. Cut four strips out of the white felt. You want them to be 1 inch by 12 inches. You will use these to attach the two pieces of flowerpots together. Cut strips into each piece and then tie the two together. (See Illustration five.)
7. When you are ready for your child to wear the flowerpot, you will circle the pot around his body and attach the ends with a stapler or hot glue gun. In order for him to ear it you will need to attach two more white felt strips to each side in order for the pot to lie on his shoulders. (Tip: Your child could even carry around a watering can and wear a blue shirt to resemble the water.)
