Grab the Baking Soda
Baking Soda is Safe for Your Family and the Environment
Baking soda is a naturally occurring substance that is found in all living things. It is an effective cleaner that can replace many of the harsh chemicals in your home, and is safe to use around kids, pets and food.
The following is information on how baking soda is used in a line of cleaning products that are safe for both families and the environment, as well as tips on how to use these products around the home from Arm & Hammer.
Clean Kids' Toys
Clean and deodorize kids' toys safely and effectively using 4 tablespoons of baking soda dissolved in 1 quart of warm water. Wash toys with a clean damp sponge or cloth, rinse thoroughly and dry.
Clean Baby Toys
Clean and deodorize baby toys using a baking-soda solution. Wash toys with a damp sponge or cloth, rinse and dry.
Save Clothes from Crayon Marks
Remove crayon marks on clothing by rubbing fabric gently with baking soda sprinkled on a damp cloth.
Deodorize Stinky Sneakers
Keep odors from spreading by shaking a little baking soda into sneakers when not in use. Shake out before wearing.
Clean Baby's Area
Safely clean your baby's area (play pen, changing table, crib, stroller, car seat, mattresses and highchair) with baking soda. Just sprinkle it directly on a fresh, damp sponge and rub the item clean. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry.
