Discovering Lacrosse and Annapolis

Annapolis also boasts a Colonial Players Theater that presents musicals, comedies and dramas and, after a few hours of sightseeing, can provide an entertaining place to forget about your weary feet.

For the sports-minded, there is a golf course, tennis courts and plenty of fishing sites. Of course, there are art galleries, bookstores, boutiques and small museums. I'm already planning another trip to Annapolis with my grandchildren to enjoy the sights once again.

Time for Bonding

The first day of the games in Stevensville was overcast and threatening rain, but Sara's team was still able to complete in eight games. We returned to Annapolis to freshen up and thought we would stroll along the main street and window shop, but it started to rain and we ran to the restaurant to enjoy our dinner.

The next day, as Sara's games continued, it poured. The rain was so heavy I could not imagine how the games could continue. The girls were determined to play, but after three games the organizers called the end of the competition. Sara returned to the car and hopped in the back to change into a dry tracksuit, but not before showing me her black and blue marks on her arms. I thought, "Lacrosse is not a game for sissies."

We drove home, none the worse for wear. Sara has since received four invitations from coaches to consider the colleges they represent.
