Gramma's Game

Allie went to her room and got all the money from under her pillow. "A quarter, a nickel and three pennies equal .33 cents," she said. She opened up her top desk drawer and took out all of Gramma's letters. She read them all again.
"What will make Gramma smile, and is filled with love and smiles?" Allie thought and thought. "What have people done for years and years and gets yellow?" Allie sighed. She looked at the green and pink envelope lying beside the letters. She noticed the stamp on the front. "Thirty-three cents! A stamp costs .33 cents!" She reread the letters again. She ran out of her room to find Mom.
"Gramma wants me to write her a letter and buy a stamp with the .33 cents." Mom smiled. "You figured it out. Way to go!" She gave Allie a hug. "Keisha will be expecting you soon, you better get your homework done."
"I have been busy lately. I haven't written Gramma a letter in a long time." Allie looked at the letters Gramma had sent her over the last week. "I don't think I'll go roller skating with Keisha today," she said. "I'm going to write Gramma a letter instead."
"Great idea. But, you still need to get your homework done. You have a Girl Scout meeting tonight."
Allie smiled. She was a very busy girl.
