Have Incontinence, Will Travel
Take the Worry out of Traveling
By Amy Carey-Bowman
Finding out what type of protection works for your own level of incontinence is an important part of building enough confidence to embark on adventures.
Val* of Lima, Ohio, relies on absorbent products to protect against leakage, especially when flying on an airplane. To make sure longer flights aren't a problem, Val always books an aisle seat and makes sure she uses the airport restroom just as her airline starts the boarding process. Then, she carries a backpack with her instead of a purse so she can bring along some incontinence supplies and a change of clothes – just in case.
Val still must be prepared but she has an optimistic outlook. "When nature calls, there's [usually] an answer if you can be flexible – both physically and emotionally," she says.
With the help of tips such as these and an enthusiasm for exploring, this summer might be your best yet. Enjoy it!
