What side effects are common with incontinence medications?

Ditropan, Ditropan XL, Detrol and Detrol LA can cause dry eyes, dry mouth, headache, constipation, confusion and rapid heartbeat.

Urispas and Bentyl can cause weakness, dizziness, drowsiness, hallucinations, insomnia, dry mouth, restlessness and impotence.

Imipramine can cause side effects similar to those caused by Ditropan and Detrol, but also can cause overflow incontinence in some people.

Alpha-blockers can cause orthostatic hypotension (very low blood pressure when going from a sitting to a standing position – people with this condition often "black out"), dizziness, weakness, drowsiness, somnolence and palpitations.

DDAVP side effects are relatively mild. It can cause headache, abdominal cramping and nasal congestion, but a dosage change has resolved most of the problems for patients.

Vaginal estrogens can cause vaginitis, breast pain, pain and itching."
