Expert Q&A

| By Michael F. Wasserman General Pediatrician | ||
When our grandchildren are visiting or they travel with us in or out of state, should we have written documentation of permission to have them and to get medical attention if needed? If so, please give an example of how this should be worded, and should it be notarized?
If you are the custodian for your grandchildren, it is advisable for you to have written permission to provide consent for medical care for the grandchildren. As I am not an attorney, I cannot advise you as to the specific wording, but I am sure that you could obtain a form from your family attorney or local hospital.
